About me

Hi
I finally gave under the pressure of our time and am now launching my own fashion blog!
I come from a small and humble village with 3000 inhabitants in the north of Norway! I´ve always been surrounded by a landscape of dramatic mountains rising up from a big open sea right outside my parents house with beautiful beaches and a fauna that changed colours with the seasons. It is really heaven on earth. But when you have ambitions, the grass is always greener…. you know… and the dream of the big city was knocking on my door continuously.
I always wanted to be a dancer and a performer as a child but also had a big interest in clothing, costumes, interior design, hair, painting, photography, etcetera etcetera and the one cliché after the other. BUT all these interests were based on my childhood dreams!
I’ll make this brief, because there is too much information just for an introduction.. I mean, I just hit my thirties, and my life could already be a book.. So I’ll blog the shit out of it instead!
I didn’t have many opportunities to follow my dreams as a child because there was no ballet school in my village. Nor was there a culture of performing or anything that matched up to my interests. But thanks to my loving parents, I was able to be as creative as I wanted. I’m very grateful for what they have done for me!
As I grew older, I started to see my dreams fade away. I found myself stuck in a high school trying to get an economical degree….this made NO sense!!! When I suddenly got into dance school, I realised that I just had to follow my dreams unconditionally!!!! It meant the world to me.
I did several years of dancing and graduated with a bachelor of arts diploma in ballett and in teaching. I performed on different stages for many years…and still do sometimes. But there was still something missing, and my passion for fashion from all those years of dressing up as a kid, and applying to fashion schools from a small place in the north as a 12 year old kid, had to mean something…
I finally got a chance to work as a stylist at a fashion show during the period I was doing Le cage Aux Folles at a Musical Theatre in Oslo in 2004. That was it! I stopped dancing, and became a stylist fulltime! I even became a hair stylist and a makeup artist as well. My childhood dreams were finally starting to be fulfilled. Since then I´ve been a fashion editor for two different magazines, styling all kinds of award shows and celebrities, doing costume design for big musicals and other shows for theatres and TV, and working with fashion on every level behind the scenes as well as on stage as the CEO of my own company!
I now live in New York and have made the choice of continuing my career here as a stylist, spreading the gospel of fashion the way I see it! It’s a damn hard business and so many artists are working their asses off to make it in this billion dollar industry. So I made a vow of being as honest as I possibly can in this crazy business! There is too much bullshit going on in the world not to share what you feel. It can imrove or make an impact on other peoples life, even from a fashion state of mind. I mean, we can’t all be attorneys and doctors. It’s not just about fashion, it’s how you put everything in perspective. Not because you are better, but just because we are all great resources of what we believe in, and we shouldn’t stop improving ourselves!
